Getting there

From the airport to Viña del Mar - Valparaiso

Viña del Mar is located 120 kilometers from Santiago, taking about 90 minutes of travel from the airport to the city downtown. Near to Viña del Mar is located Valparaiso. Both cities have been grown together and nowadays are fully connected.

Free transportation from the Airport to Viña del Mar downtown will be available for all ICIT 2010 attendees according to the following schedule:
SATURDAY 13: 11:00 - 15:30 - 21:00 - 23:59
SUNDAY 14: 11:00 - 15:30 - 21:00 - 23:59
Please note that the Chilean time zone is UTC-3.
There will be an IEEE-ICIT 2010 volunteer team (blue T-shirts) helping the conference attendees at the airport from 8:00 to 23:59 on Saturday and Sunday.

In case of your arrival is being programmed in different dates, regular services are available from the airport with early reservation. You can also ask to the IEEE-ICIT 2010 Volunteer Team.

How to get to Viña del Mar from the airport by public transportation:
If you use public buses, please do the following:
Take the bus 'CentroPuerto' or 'Tur Bus Aeropuerto' towards Santiago; after about 10 minutes drive, please get off the bus at the bus station Los Pajaritos (sounds: Los Pahharitos; ask the driver to let you know when the bus arrive there), and there buy a ticket for a bus to Viña del Mar. The frequency of these buses is high (about one in 10-15 minutes). The total price of travel is about 1500+3000=4500 Chilean pesos (equivalent of about 9 USD).
The travel from Los Pajaritos to Viña del Mar takes about 90 minutes. The Bus Terminal in Viña del Mar is in the center of the city. You can take a Taxi from bus terminal to your hotel in Viña del Mar, it may cost less than 3000 chilean pesos.
